27 Things About Me You May Not Already Know

In honor of turning the ripe old age of 27, Monday Musings will be about me. And 27 things you may or may not know about me after reading this blog. This is going to be tough, I just know it.

  1. Whenever it is my birthday and people wish me happy birthday on facebook, I always make sure to thank them individually. So I end up feeling like my fingers will fall off because so many people want to wish you happy birthday on facebook. The worst is thanking someone you don't even really talk to. All you end up typing is Thanks but I like to think you took the time to say Happy Birthday so I ought to take the time to thank you for doing so.
  2. I have lived in two states- New Jersey and Georgia. I consider myself the best of both worlds but honestly, I fit in more up north. You southern people just cannot handle my sarcasm or intolerance for stupidity.
  3. I have been in 9 weddings. Only one of those have I been the Maid of Honor. And I still have at least one more that I will be in: Barbie in 2012. I am rallying for Groomsman since she got me a babysitter (aka Matron of Honor) but she's too "traditional" for that shit.
  4. My apartment looks like Tailgater's Alley threw up UGA gear in it. My mom and I have a competition to see who can collect the most UGA shit but I'm clearly the winner and always will be. The front room will be my UGA room once I get a few more frames and get shit organized. What do I have? Here goes: the Florida-Georgia Rivalry Football Vault, the Georgia Football Vault, handpainted wine glass, handpainted pilsner glass, handpainted shot glass, handpainted martini glass, a rubiks cube, UGA hot sauce, UGA pasta salad, two UGA chips and dip trays, dozens of UGA ornaments, a UGA fan, Saturday Shrines (Sanford stadium is on the cover), UGA trivia book, the 1920 Varisty football team photo, UGA football wine glass accessories, 20 UGA shirts made into a UGA blanket, two UGA snuggies, a UGA football helmet painting (I painted it), two pairs of UGA sweat pants, UGA gloves, two UGA sweatshirts, 6 UGA t shirts I actually wear, a Knowshon Moreno jersey, two UGA pile ons, a UGA frog, an Athens dishtowel and a mini Hairy dog. That's just off the top of my head. I know there is more but the list is getting long.
  5. I am an expert stalker. Via the internet. I figured out where Tony Gonzalez lives based on a photo he posted on twitter. I discovered the basic information of my gym crush using the internet (he does not have a facebook and has a very common name) and can now tell you the name of his wife and child, where he works, what he does and where he lives. Also, what kind of cars he drives. I am very observant. Combine that with the internet and you're fucked.
  6. My favorite movie is Rudy. I wanted to be Rudy as a kid. I have a Notre Dame sweatshirt and up until I left for college they were my favorite team. I even went to the Notre Dame- USC game the year after I graduated college. It was at USC so my next goal is to go to a game at Notre Dame.
  7. I have not had more than the 7 basic channels on my tv since my sophomore year of college. I have an extensive movie collection and pay to have Netflix. Hulu is my best friend when it comes to watching the shows I like.
  8. My freezer currently contains patron, soco, jack daniels, vodka frozen peppers and onions and hash browns. Yes, I need someone to come cook for me. And yes, I may be an alcoholic.
  9. I have two degrees. One in Literature and the other in Journalism. I am not using either degree for anything. And it shows in my blog postings. I settled on those degrees after realizing that I would not have to take any math courses in college to get these degrees due to the fact that I took college statistics in high school. Therefore, if you ask me to add, subtract, multiple or divide anything off the top of my head I will not be able to do it.
  10. I subscribe to Interview magazine, Maxim, Fitness, Self, People, Shape, Entreprenuer and ESPN the magazine. I might even get more than that. And I love Playboy magazine for the articles. And that's not a lie.
  11. The only glasses I have in my apartment are glasses I have stolen or won from bars. I have glasses for Laughing Skull Pilsner, Sweetwater Brewery, Flying Dog, MGD 64, Brooklyn Brewery and Shiner Bock to name a few. I also have a few other drinking related glasses from sorority events and how to make this drink glasses.
  12. I am slightly obsessed with taking pictures. My mac is not working at optimal speeds because it is run down with pictures. I'm having to delete any I've already printed (I have a scanner so I can scan them back in if I need to).
  13. I am extremely lazy. I might get hungry and want to pick something up but if it requires more than one stop light or crossing over a high way or making a left turn to get in or out, I will probably not be picking it up. And I don't do delivery because it is more expensive since you have to tip the driver. Cheap and lazy.
  14. I have WAYYYY too many friends. So many that sometimes I don't see them for months at a time because I am too busy. Someone is always getting married or having a birthday and I feel like I have to be at every one of these events.
  15. Speaking of birthdays (and Christmas), I hate these things. Because I get super stressed about the gifts. I hate the idea of you buying me something cooler/more expensive/ more thoughtful than I did. On the flip side, I hate it more if I bought you gifts from the Loft and you bought me a iTunes giftcard and wine glasses. I would have gone cheaper had I known we were gonna be like that.
  16. When I'm hung over I want two things: diet coke and chinese. Also sometimes chocolate milk and hashbrowns covered with a ham and cheese omelet.
  17. I cannot cook. Okay, I can somewhat. I can make pasta, cook chicken in a skillet, make slice and bake cookies, make chicken teriyaki, omelets, and, as of this morning, french toast.
  18. My mom took a scant 15 minutes to deliver me. I was two weeks late and almost born in the elevator. I was clearly impatient and ready to get wherever the fuck I was going. These traits have stuck with me- I am perpetually late and I'm always in a rush and impatient to get where I'm going. Sorry to Atlanta drivers who have encountered my wrath on the road. But seriously, stay to the right if you're slow.
  19. I can't dance. I have no rhythm. But my favorite thing to do is have naked dance parties at my apartment. Of course, the mirrors are in the bathroom so I can't see it and the lights are off so the neighbors can't see my uncoordinated shadow.
  20. Despite growing up at the beach, I cannot surf. I can lie out with the best of them though. And I can snowboard. My home town was great because I lived 5 blocks from the beach, an hour train ride into the city and a 3 hour drive to the nearest slopes for snowboarding. Now I live 6 hours from the beach, 6 hours from snowboarding and in a city that's a pain in the ass to get around. Damnit.
  21. I hate hate hate cleaning. But I am the messiest person ever. Which means that even though I am social, I rarely have people over. I'd hate for them to see this shit.
  22. My mom brags to people about me. Some of the funniest shit is when we go out together and a guy will approach us about having a drink with him and they'll try to show off how much they drink. My mom warns them (with a note of pride in her voice) that I can and will match them drink for drink and drink them under the table. They never listen. They regret it later when they are puking in a toilet while I take shots with the bartender.
  23. I have not thrown up from drinking since I was 22. I also haven't had a serious hang over since I was 24. I drink more now in one weekend than I drank then in an entire week. I will die of liver/kidney failure. Or stumble into oncoming traffic one day.
  24. My favorite food is wings. I can put down 20 wings without blinking. The hotter the better. The best wings are from Amici's in Athens- honey XXX. The heat hits you after the fact and it is a scorcher.
  25. I would love a job that let me work from anywhere. I would travel a lot if that were the case. I want to see new cities and hang out with my friends from other states more often than I do currently.
  26. I love concerts. I went to my first concert (Music Midtown) as an 11 year old with my mom. Coincidentally, I also got high for the first time that same day. Second hand of course, my mom is not an idiot. I try to go to at least  3 a year. The best one was with my friend Dave- we went and saw Bruce Springsteen. It was like a religious experience. The crowd was electric. I couldn't even name all the concerts I have been to since I was 11. I usually buy my brother and sister tickets to a show for Christmas and/or their birthdays each year. I've also taken my mom to a concert for her birthday in the past as well.
  27. My mom is awesome but she's probably wanted to murder me numerous times. For instance the time I went into school and drew a picture of my weekend. Which included going to dinner with my parents and brother. My parents split a pitcher of margaritas. I drew them drinking pitchers and pitchers of beer and told my teacher we were there for HOURS. Imagine stick figures sitting at a table with pitchers floating in the air above them. Cause that is what I drew. I ended up having to go to lunch time therapy sessions where I drew my feelings. Defax came to our house and did an investigation followed by two years of spot checks before anyone even realized I was 8 and had exaggerated the whole thing. I was a story teller even then.

Thirsty Thursday- Malt Beverage Edition

If it hasn't been made glaringly apparent yet, I like alcohol. A lot.

Also, I like college football. A lot.
Combine the two, and well...I'm a shit show, win or lose.

This past weekend, my friend Kelly and I headed to Athens for the UGA- Arkansas game and decided since our week had been so horrendous, we would get some crazy shit to drink. And now I'm going to share my thoughts with you on said crazy shit. You see, I have some very diverse groups of friends back home at the Jersey Shore and here in Atlanta. I absolutely cannot imagine how anyone of them would compare to the others and what would happen if they all got together but sometimes it is fun to bring an activity that one does to the other and see how it goes (see Get Amongst It). Friday was one of those times.

Joose is a premium malt beverage with 9-12% alcohol content. The guy in BP looked stunned I was buying it (and also whispered to the other guy as I was walking out "I've never seen a white girl purchase that"). According to its packaging, Joose contains caffeine, taurine, ginseng, and certified colors. Joose is available in 23.5 oz cans and are very classy looking (see picture below for evidence of that). Last year they had to prove they were safe and since they're still selling like hotcakes to people who are not white girls, I'm assuming they either did so or they paid a lot of money to pretend they did so. Flavors for the 12% alcohol include fruit punch, green apple, watermelon, raspberry lemonade and wicked lemon tea. I gotta tell you, the shit definitely helped fuck me up. BUT it tasted like ass (I went for Green Apple). I would not recommend to anyone purchasing it unless you're trying to get dressed up for a not white girl party and look the part.

Four Loko is also a premium malt beverage (hence the comparison). Google the shit- apparently people google it quite a bit in conjunction with the word banned. Methinks it might be dangerous but let me read on before I share that with you. It's an alcoholic energy drink available in the same size cans as Joose and in 8 flavors (grape, fruit punch, orange, watermelon, blue raspberry, lemonade, cranberry and cranberry lemonade). I don't know what the hell is going on at Ohio State University but some awesome shit comes out of that school in regards to drinking so maybe I picked the wrong college. Its name is derived from its four other ingredients, caffeine, taurine, guarana, and wormwood, an active ingredient in absinthe. Also, apparently if you are in Indiana it only has 6% alcohol content (fuck going to those schools!). I tried two of the flavors last weekend and I have to tell you one of them(fruit punch) tasted like the worst kind of cough syrup you could buy. Like maybe expired from Walmart brand. Mixed with a vodka tonic though...christ I am really an alcoholic. The grape flavor tastes like cough syrup as well; however, it is tolerable. So if you like sippin on some syzzurp then this is your thing.

Both made me bounce off the walls and behave in ways only the Jackass crowd would be proud of so I would try this out in the comfort of your own home first. Don't go drinking it in public and then being surprised when you're tossed in the slammer. You have been warned.

Things I Would Do if I Had a WEE Bit More Dough

So, I've discussed what I wanted for Christmas 2009 (none of which happened PS), what I would do if I won the lottery (which still hasn't happened...obviously), My Bucket List (none of which I have completed... actually I have no idea), Things that I'm Tired of Hearing About (of which I can add to. Por ejemplo, was it necessary for Kanye and Taylor Swift to sing about that stupid VMA incident a fucking year later? Methinks NO), and shows I would be absolutely AWESOME on (which has not led to me being on said shows. YET). Today, I want to list all the things I would do or buy if I had just a bit more money. Or just a bit less bills. Either way.
  1. A dresser. Dude. Seriously. My fucking clothes are stacked up in a fucking pile against the wall. Granted I've divided them out into types (short sleeves shirts, tank tops, jeans, shorts, etc, etc.) but the room looks like a fucking 12 year old boys. Some days I pick things up and sniff them to ensure I'm able to even wear them in public. Yes, I should have been born a guy. I'm also fairly certain you will find me sleeping like so one of these days. Possibly on the side of the street but what the fuck ever.

  2. Pole Dancing classes. Yes, I want to be a stripper. One day I want a boy to sing I'm in love with a stripper to me. Oh wait, someone has already done that. Whoops. Anyway, the girl who taught my class in Vegas had a BANGING body. Clearly I want to be her. But less trashy.

  3. Attend GA/FL. Stay in a nice house for 4 days. Get hammered. Hang on the beach. Pay Florida to lose (I am only half kidding on that one). Basically enjoy myself without worrying about every last dollar I spend and how many hours of overtime it equals.

  4. Cable TV. Its really shitty watching everything on Hulu (no offense since I'm grateful its around). In fact, I need DVR, HBO and Showtime. And if you don't know why, you don't stop by nearly enough so click here. While I'm at it, a new TV is probably necessary.

  5. I would fly home to Jersey, take a weekend to Hilton Head, fly out to California. I would take trips. Vacations are a necessity in life damnit. How else can one get through dead-end jobs?
  6. I would have a liquor cabinent in my apartment. Stocked with everything awesome. Wine, beer, bourbon, gin, vodka, rum...all of it. Hmmmm...yummmmm. God just thinking about it makes me thirsty.
  7. I'd finally make my doctors appts- dentist, gyno and eye doctor. Yes, I know its horrible to be behind on this. No, I can't afford copays or my deductible. So my teeth are terrible, my hoo ha is empty (omg I half can't belive I just typed that) and my eyes need new contacts STAT.
There is a lot more shit but I'm thinking this needs to be part 1. Part 2 will come later.
What would you do if you had just a little more spare cash?

The Case for Boozing...

Oh, I'm sorry...what's that you say? I'll die from drinking heavily?

Not so fast, says Time.

Moderate drinkers in this studey (1-3 drinks per day) tend to have the lowest mortality rates.

Heavy drinkers come in second.

Abstainers lead the shortest lives.

So grab yourself a brew.

BING. BANG. BOOM.

I WANT THIS!

Ummm who needs a water bra when you can purchase a booze bra?!?!

In the spirit of Thirsty Thursday, I thought I might make a list of places I would wear this bad boy. Here we go:

  • Shopping. Some girls love it. Me, not so much. It may have to do with the fact that I am virtually penniless or perhaps the fact that the sizes those no talent clothing assholes expect us to fit into are UNREAL, but shopping for me is like a punishment. Online shopping on the otherhand...anyway, just think, dress is too tight in the boobs? No problem, suck some soco out of your tits. Dress is too big in the boobs, fill 'em up with some 151 (you know, so you'll take your time sucking the shit out).
  • Sporting Events. I don't attend a ton of these but when I do go, JESUS, it's highway robbery how much these people charge us for beer! A beer, people! Even at a Gwinnett Braves game, the crap is JUST OUT OF my reach. So, I just pack accordingly by filling my bra up with some Coors Light. Kind of like those awesome blue mountains, my nipples will tell you if its Ice Cold. And college footballs games clearly don't serve booze which is a crime in itself. Don't get me wrong, I like a sober football game as much as the next guy (or gal as the case may be) but why be sober when you can be drunk? Plus think of all the ass I'd pull.
  • PTA Meetings. Why the hell would anyone want to subject themselves to this. Look, I know one day I'm going to think my little snot-nosed brat is the cutest damn thing in the world and I'll be so impressed she managed to, I don't know, walk up the stairs without tripping or go potty all by herself (and only after I bribe her with hairbows or something), but the idea of sitting in chairs that were uncomfortable when I was her age (and hiking uphill, both ways, in the snow, barefoot, in june, carrying my brother on my back...) does not sound appealing at all. Add in principals, who I'm fairly certain I'll dislike no matter my age, and I have a feeling I'll need a cosmo or two to get through it. "I'd like tooooo, belllllchhhhhhhhhh, make a motion to....ssslerve b-b-b-oooze at sfoootball gamessss..." All those in favor?
  • My kids sporting events. I can picture it now, not only am I the parent totally into her kid's game but I'm also so hammered it's comical. Join me as I picture my future now: Teetering on oh-so impractical Jessica Simpson wedges, wearing a tank top (with my child's picture pin pinned to the front, of course!), some short shorts or maybe capris if it's chilly. Stumbling up and down the soccer field, yelling at my child to BE AGGRESSIVE, B-E AGGRESSIVE. Of course, I'd give up on that little diddy when I realized I couldn't spell aggressive due to the margaritas I have been sucking from my own tit. Did I mention, the left boob is deflated since I emptied it out?
  • Job Interviews. God, when you are in the waiting room...so intense. The butterflies make you want to puke everywhere. Why not calm it all down and get your game face on by taking a nip of Jack D and coke before you head into that office and knock their socks off? In the process, your personality is IMPROVED and your knockers are looking nice. Hey, if it gets you hired, it gets you hired. And when you show up to work without big boobs, they can't say a word, can they? If they do...well, a sexual harrassment lawsuit will fatten that wallet nicely.
  • Anywhere on Sunday so long as I live in the South. Seriously. EVERYWHERE. To the grocery store, to the park, to the gym...anywhere and everywhere so I'm never without booze.
  • Anywhere sobriety is a requirement. I once went to a dry wedding. And tailgated. And brought in a bottle of orange juice spiked with vodka because "I'm diabetic and I don't want to go into shock, you know." This would make that much easier for me. Plus, men would be rooting for the girl with red wine spilling from her chest to catch the bouquet. I'd be the coolest guest ever.

*Look how happy the bitch in the picture looks. I want to be that happy!

**Clearly, I'm joking here people. It's not entirely acceptable to do any of these things so I'd probably refrain but in a perfect world...

Thirsty Thursday aka Why Do I Drink?

  1. I am going gray. See previous post for my feelings on this newest development.
  2. I have 2 months to find a new job and a new place to live.
  3. I am single. Per usual.
  4. My ex is engaged. See reason # 3.
  5. My life is in shambles.
  6. I am broke (probably from drinking).
  7. My friends live farther away than I would like.
  8. Gas is expensive.
  9. Shit, life is expensive.
  10. I hate my job (probably get fired again for saying it again. Some lessons just can't be taught).
  11. A little girl I babysat is getting married. What the hell is that? Shouldn't she still be in diapers or something?
  12. I have issues. Lots of issues. Anxiety, abandonment, daddy...you name it, I've got it.
  13. Life is an utter disappointment whether I try or not.
  14. I like booze. No seriously, I like it. A LOT.
  15. People are shitty drivers. This puts me in a bad mood.
  16. No one has entered my dicktowel giveaway. I'll show you people. All current followers are now entered. Blaire I hope you win a dick towel and don't know what to do with it.
  17. My neighbors suck. Except one of them has an entire liquor store in her apt.
  18. I have bad luck with cars (that will be a whole nother post my friends).
  19. The quarter life crisis neither begins nor ends at 25. Therefore, I'm currently residing in this state of my life.
  20. I miss home.
  21. I am overweight.
  22. I have high blood pressure. Alcohol lowers blood pressure. Dr. Write me a prescription!
  23. It's fun.
  24. It's Thursday?
  25. Telemarketers keep calling my apt looking for David and Jennifer Monter. Who, oddly enough, I actually know as David used to be my employee.
  26. Miley Cyrus. Do I need to say anything more?
  27. I haven't had sex in quite sometime. No that is not an invitation for one of you to offer your services. I'm just saying, its enough to drive you to drink. Because well, its depressing and because you might lower your standards and get laid.
  28. I like bars. And patios. And college football games. And Yankees games. And concerts. And all of these things are more awesomer with booze. Seriously.
  29. Because I want to.
  30. Because this blog would be better if I were hammered.

Grab Yourself a Dos Equis!

You already read how much I adore Fitness Magazine (be sure to enter the contest!) but I wanted to take one story and highlight it seperately because you also know my love of alcoholic beverages. It's been long surmised that a glass of wine a day is actually good for you. And though the debate still rages on red v white and their benefits, most people accept this as fact. This month's Fitness Magazine proposes an alternative in it's story on "The New Superfoods".

According to the magazine, the understudy to your nightly glass of wine may actually be... BEER.

"The grape debate is whether white or red is better for you, but who knew that hops were also in the running? Your favorite brew is also made with antioxident-rich plants. In a study of nearly 29,000 women, researchers at Brigham and Women't Hospital and Harvard Medical School found that those who sipped up to one drink a day- liquor, wine or beer- had a lower risk of developing high blood pressure than nondrinkers. Beer has also been linked to greater bone density in postmenopausal women, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. One of the brew's bone-building secret ingredients is possibly the mineral silicon (a study found that India pale ale has the most and wheat beers the least). But limit yourself to one alcoholic drink a day; research shows that more than that may have the opposite effect on your health."

So in honor of Cinco de Mayo, grab yourself an alcoholic beverage and indulge. Unwind and enjoy the company of good friends!

Days 19, 20, 21- Weekend Wrap Up

Well, folks, it was a good weekend all in all. For one thing, I didn't get black out drunk. Now, that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your viewpoint but in my little world black out= 100+ lbs of weight gain. Seriously. Also, I held off the lbs if today is any indication. I am currently sitting at 162.5 which is ALMOST 5 lbs less than I started out at. Sweet deal. Anyway, the weekend.

FRIDAY
Friday I woke up at 5 am and worked out- did cardio. 20 minutes on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the bike and 20 minutes on the elliptical. The random five minutes missing were spent in the bathroom. TMI, I know. Anyway, it was all good until 9 am rolled around and I was ready for a nap. Damn, how do people get up early?!?!?!
breakfast Triple Berry Smoothie from Gold's Gym
snack popcorn
lunch pasta with six cheese marinara sauce
snack hummus with crackers
dinner Nothing. Because I went to my sister's swim meet. Beforehand, I was not hungry. It was 11 by the time I got home and believe me it took everything I have not to stop at McDonald's for a Chicken Club combo. But I resisted. Yay me.

SATURDAY
Saturday was jam packed with plans. My best friend (Hey Britt!) is getting married so we went and looked at locations and we found THE dress. I wish I could post the pictures of the dresses she didn't end up getting but they don't let you take pictures until you decide on the one and obviously I can't go posting that! I got home from that in time to change clothes and head out to my friend (hi Candice! Happy Birthday!) surprise dinner at Mccray's Tavern on the Square. It was a busy, exhausting day to say the least! I woke up and did some strength training so I did get a work out in.

breakfast It was workout or breakfast, I went with workout. I know, I know, I know. I actually was not hungry though so it was fine. Actually, at the first location I was offered a mimosa. So there is breakfast.
lunch Ted's Montana Grill. I had a Spitfire Chicken Sandwich. I eyed some salads but I can very rarely resist french fries. My sandwich was on a Wheat bun with Monterrey jack cheese, jalapenos, bacon, ranch, lettuce and tomato. And I ate the whole damn thing. I cleared that plate.
dinner I convinced myself to order a salad over the buffalo chicken wrap which if you have ever had you know is DE.LI.CIOUS. Seriously. I went with a chicken Caesar. The chicken was not great but the Caesar was. I also indulged in some tavern chips from someone elses appetizer. Dude, it was in front of me. I did not drink with dinner but once I inhaled a yummy funfetti cake, the drinks were a flowing. I did two champagne based beverage, one chocolate cake shot and one rum and diet. If you know me, you know this is nothing. So I am proud of myself. Plus I spread those out over a 6 hour period.

Sunday
Sunday is meant to be a lazy day. I worked 6 hours, hit the gym and spent the night hanging with my sister. She made me dinner and we watched a movie (the promised birthday gift from last year is finally redeemed). Then when my mom got home we picked up ice cream. At the gym I did 40 minutes on this thing that apparently has no name. WTF is up with the machine not having a label? What if I wanted to purchase one? Anyway, it's like an elliptical but on an angle so you are constantly "climbing". It kind of feels like I imagine hiking with a walking stick must feel. Also, I did some work with a strength band on my abs and arms and I am FEELING it right now. WOW.

brunch Homemade. I wanted IHOP (Why do I try to write it like iHOP. Thanks for that Apple) but no one near me wanted IHOP. Thank god my friends live in Atlanta and Loganville and Gainseville and Athens. Anyway, I made scrambled egg whites with tomato and cheddar cheese and turkey bacon and hashbrowns. I swallowed it all down with cranberry juice.
snack mini muffins with chocolate chips. I let my hunger get the better of me. I know.
dinner My sister made sesame chicken with teryaki rice. It was AWESOME. And one piece of foccaccia toast. Then mom came home and we all got pints of ice cream. I only ate 1/3 of mine. Those two inhaled the whole pint. Insane. I'm trying to make good choices but it is hard when everyone else is skinnier and making the choice to eat enough ice cream to make them physically ill!

Terrible decisions...

Some people go out of town and behave; others go out of town and behave...BADLY. I am apparently a part of the others. What is it about going out of town that loosens the inhibitions so that you'll talk to anyone, steal anything and even slut it up? The answer is simple really...alcohol. Alcohol really encourages you to do just about anything. It's like your ID comes out in full force and no one and nothing is going to stop it from doing, saying and getting what it wants. It's absolutely ridiculous to think you can consume a twelve pack of beer and shots of liquor and not be affected in some way. It's just been a while since I've been affected enough to make an absolutely horrendous decision and then spend time pondering that decision. The best part is the not remembering part which I know is fun in its own right (cause if you can't remember it, it could not have happened!) but that is also the part that more than likely is indicative of a problem. But I'd rather ignore that problem and commence worrying about the possible consequences of my bad decision. Will it have far reaching effects? Or just a case of good old Catholic guilt (which in itself could be far reaching)? I think when people witness you spiraling of control they figure you just don't give a fuck. Which is true of the moment but never of the aftermath. The fact of the matter is that having a life in shambles can be just as terrible as it sounds. And up until now, I've always lived by the motto of not regretting my decisions but learning from them. But how much have I really learned if years after college I have begun making the same mistakes over again? Is it an endless cycle? Or at some point will I finally get off the merry go round and onto solid ground?

Booze does a body good...

Weight: 162.2
Workout: Walking 30 minutes
Food Diary:
Breakfast: Egg and Cheese on a bagel, hashbrowns
Snack: Crackers with cheese and pepperoni
Lunch: Chips and salsa and cheese dip with Empanadas and a salad from On the Border
Desert: Skinny Cow dipper

So apparently the obscene amount of drinking I did in Athens somehow allowed me to lose about a lb. I am not sure how this works except that the lesson I learned was the more I drink the less I weigh. Which I'm pretty sure is not correct, nor is it the lesson I should have taken away from this. Though now that I think about it, the skinniest I was in college was senior year when I drank 7 nights a week. Perhaps my initial thought was true: I cannot survive without booze. I think this makes me an alcoholic. Or pre-alcoholic. Is that possible? Is alcoholism a disease you develop or are you born with it? Is this a nature vs. nurture argument? This weight loss blog just got way to deep for me ( I desperately wanted to write "weigh too deep" but thought that was a pathetic attempt at injecting humor into a thus far humorless blog.) Also, I noticed that the day after I booze all I want is junk thus leading me to believe that in order for this to work, I would need to be drunk 24/7 so as not to eat every fast food joint in town.
